Here are a couple of older Photoshop sketches I'd done. These were studies of paintings by Albert Bierstadt and David Roberts.

It looks like its been a year to the day since my last posting. Time flies. Here are a couple of sketches that I've done since last post. I'll be posting some more up soon.

A short gouache sketch overlooking the Santa Monica mountains on a rare overcast day.

This was a quick drawing of half dome while at Yosemite this past November. It was intended to be a watercolor sketch but the sun was dropping below the mountains before I could get set up so I instead finished it as a pencil sketch.

This was from a park overlooking the Santa Monica mountains. I hopped a small fence that was obstructing my view and sat in the grass painting. 2 hours later was informed by park police that although my painting was nice I would get fined for jumping the fence. They ended up leaving me with just the warning...

This is a local park down the street from my house. Painted in about 2 hours. Watercolor and gouache. 6x6.

This was painted looking out my living room window across the street. I am using watercolors and gouache on toned sketchbook paper about 6"x6".

mirror lake

I went to Yosemite National Park for Thanksgiving and did this quick sketch after a short hike to Mirror Lake. Spent about an hour on it before the sun disappeared and the temperature dropped. Unfortunately the lake was dried up.

Gouache in sketch book. Approx 45 min
